Turbo Oil Return Line Leak
In this video i am fixing the oil leak on my turbo oil return line.
Turbo oil return line leak. The piston blow by back tracks up the return line. Oil consumption blocked turbocharger return line turbocharger oil leak is a common fault where the oil leaks from the turbo and is sucked into the combustion chamber or blown out at the exhaust. It will then push oil through the seals. Before it was dripping on the exhaust manifold and burning with a lot of smoke.
The turbo oil drain line is a common place for oil leaks it is a rubber line that is heat cycled and it inevitably cracks. The junction seals to the turbo with a copper seal. A bad pcv system can make the turbo leak. Well it s as simple as blocking off the oil return line on the turbocharger.
When a turbocharger is installed correctly it should not leak oil however there can be cases where oil leaks occur. Also to much piston blow by. Just above this is where the oil supply line enters the top of the turbo. Braided turbo return line engine oil under pressure enters the bearing housing of the impeller shaft from the oil inlet side.
The junction screws into the turbo and the oil line connects to the junction. The return line is connected to the crank case. Oil leaks can be caused by a variety of factors the main factor being incorrect pressure within the compressor and turbine housings. Inspect carefully to see if damaged or missing from original turbo removal.
Oil leak here will run down the turbo to the return line area. Sometimes from the force of removing it or sometimes from actual failure.
